A little bit about Uganda

Uganda is a sovereign country in East Africa. It is situated right on the equator, with Lake Victoria being its southern border and the Nile River to its eastern border.

Uganda is sub-Saharan, lying below the great Sahara desert well to the north and just due east of the Horn of Africa, on the Arabian Sea. Its neighboring countries include South Sudan to the north, Kenya to the east, Tanzania to the south, and DRC, ( Democratic Republic of the Congo,) to the west. 

Uganda is only about a third of the size of our home state, Texas, here in the USA, but it has almost one and a half as many people living there, with some 2.1 million orphans! Kampala is the capital city, and serves as our home base when we visit and work in Uganda.
